Barbara M Chaplin

Barbara Marie Chaplin,81, transitioned into the loving arms of the Lord on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at her residence on Hilton Head Island, SC surrounded by her loving family.  Barbara Chaplin was known for putting others above herself through her volunteerism or opening her home to those in need.  She deeply loved her family and worked hard so that they could have a better life.  Her strong work ethic and willingness to help others at the drop of a dime will be greatly missed.  She fought the good fight; she kept the faith until the very end. 

Barbara Chaplin was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Jesse Brown and the former late Ethel White on January 23, 1941, and received her education in Savannah as well, where she was graduated from A.E. Beach High School.  She reared four children, Nathaniel Otis Chaplin, Bruce (Lourdes) Chaplin, Donna Chaplin, and Nadine Chaplin.  She leaves five grandchildren(Barry(Erika) Chaplin, Patrice (Derrick) Chisolm, Alison Chaplin, Dominique Chaplin, Christopher Chaplin), and five great grandchildren (Kalaylah Chisolm, Delicia Chisolm, Derrick Chisolm, Jr., Khalyl Chaplin and Patrick Chisolm)  along with a host nieces and nephews.  Barbara Chaplin also leaves her sister Nellie M. Hamilton and brother George M. Brown in addition to her beloved cousins including her special cousin Sarah Stoney. 

The Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at St. James Baptist Church, 209 Dillon Road, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. 

Services of comfort have been confidently entrusted to Stiney's Funeral Home.
